THE ART OF GREAT WALL DESIGN
Bespoke art concepts, curated collections and scalable project editions for hospitality, interior design and extraordinary private spaces.
MOUNT STARLING
Mount Starling turns location, architecture, culture and historical imagery into contemporary art worlds. Every project starts with a story and ends with work made specifically for its space.
From one signature piece in a hotel lobby to coordinated editions across hundreds of rooms, the creative idea stays singular while production adapts to the scale of the project.
FEATURED PROJECT · BERLIN
A site-specific lobby collection inspired by Alexander von Humboldt's journeys and the visual culture surrounding his expeditions.
The hotel's location at Humboldthain became the starting point. Historical visual sources were researched, restored, cropped, recoloured and transformed into a contemporary family of landscape works — presented in custom-made black frame structures developed for the lobby.

PRIVATE COMMISSION · BAVARIA
A bespoke Mount Starling design for Georg Freiherr von Hammerstein-Loxten's hunting room in his ancestral castle near Munich.
A traditional hunting theme becomes a vivid contemporary intervention. The project demonstrates how Mount Starling can develop one-off commissions that respond directly to a private interior, its architecture and its cultural context.
WHAT WE DO
We separate the creative value of Mount Starling from the production method. That allows bespoke signature work and efficient project editions to live within one coherent visual system.
Site-specific concepts for lobbies, restaurants, bars, spas, offices and landmark spaces. Research, art direction, custom design and premium production.
Curated families of artworks developed around a property, destination or brand story — for suites, corridors and public areas.
Scalable design systems for guest rooms, cabins and multi-property rollouts. A controlled visual family, adapted to volume and budget.
One-off and small-edition works developed for exceptional private interiors, collectors and architect-led residential projects.
HOW WE WORK
Every Mount Starling project moves from story and concept into precise visual development, premium production and finishing. These examples make the process tangible — from individual visual concepts and theme creation to print quality, framing detail and transformation into light installations.

Story, research, visual direction, artwork families and bespoke design.
Room mock-ups, proportions, materials, formats and coordinated variants.
From museum-grade individual fabrication to cost-efficient project editions.
Project coordination, licensing, finishing, framing and delivery according to scope.

Each project starts with a distinct narrative idea. Motifs, colour logic, references and composition are developed specifically for the room, the client and the atmosphere the place should create.

Selected works can be translated into backlit or illuminated formats — turning artwork into spatial installation and giving hospitality, retail or private interiors a different kind of presence.

We collaborate with specialist production partners in Germany to achieve the right colour depth, material quality, scale and finish for each concept.

Custom shadow-gap frames add precision, presence and architectural calm. The frame is not an afterthought — it is part of the finished statement.

Close attention to paper, substrate, mounting and edge detail ensures that the work feels valuable up close — not just strong from a distance.
