Fra Angelico (* between 1386 and 1400 in Vicchio near Florence, † February 18, 1455 in Rome) - born Guido di Pietro - was one of the most influential painters of the early Renaissance and praised in particular for his lighting in his works. In 1982, Pope John Paul II proclaimed his beatification.

THE

ANNUNCIATON

The Annunciation, painted by Fra Angelico in around 1426 is the central part of an altarpiece, depicts two scenes, the expulsion from paradise and the Annunciation Mary.

The altar is now in the Museum Prado.
