Work: Wall design inspired by Alexander von Humbold'ss "Le Chimborazo vu depuis le plateau de Tapia" painted beginning of the 19th century - reworked as an Aquatint by Thibaut / Bouquet after a sketch by Humboldt from the travel works.

Original Artist: Alexander von Humbold (September 14, 1769 - May 6, 1859) was a German naturalist whose significance went far beyond his native country. He was one of the founders of modern geography and at the same time a gifted draftsman and painter.
